End of 2022 FLOSS CfPs
As we approach the end of the year some large FLOSS conferences have Calls For Participation ( CfPs ) closing. If you’ve got a FLOSS story to tell or have a topic you’d like to talk about please consider putting in a proposal or three. Our conferences are great because we get fantastic talks that attract amazing hallway tracks.
MozFest is virtual March 20th to 24th. The CfP closes on December 16th.
MozFest is looking for a variety of themes such as, Autonomy & Governance, Education & Access, Humans Behind the Machine, Radical Inclusion Experience and Youth Zone.
FOSDEM has mini-conferences they call 'devrooms' that take place sometime during FOSDEM. Each devroom has it’s own CfP, deadlines and requirements.
FOSDEM is February 4th and 5th and provides resources for devrooms to be virtual, hybrid or in person. The devrooms have to announce their schedules by mid-December, so all of the CfPs are closing soon.
The Mozilla and Open Source Design devroom CfPs close December 5th. Both are hybrid, allowing both remote and in person speakers.
The Open Source Design CfP says: Design can mean anything including typography, graphic design, interaction design, user experience, human-computer interaction, accessibility, information architecture, content strategy, service design, user research, design research and more.
SCaLE (Southern California Linux Expo) is March 20th to 24th. The in person conference’s CfP closes December 2nd.
We will be back in Pasadena for SCaLE in 2023. It was fun returning to an old location over the Summer, but Pasadena’s great. It’s walkable with lots of variety. Also, we have way more space in Pasadena, so plenty of room for the huge conference that SCaLE has become.
Those all have CfPs closing in December.
FOSSASIA's CfP closes January 22nd, so more time for that one. FOSSASIA is hybrid April 13th to 15th.
FOSSASIA is in Singapore with participation from lots of countries in the area. They put on several days of great content worthy of their international audience.
For the virtual events they’ve been pulling in people from all over the world as well. This one’s a great remote conference for people in the Americas. It starts a little later in the day for us, so easy to be there from the morning.
FOSSASIA is looking for talks on:
-
Cloud and DevOps
-
Artificial Intelligence
-
Blockchain & Financial Services
-
Web & Mobile
-
Hardware, Firmware, Chips
-
Robotics
-
Open Source Standards
-
Databases
Hope I get to interact with you at some FLOSS conferences in 2023!
